Connecting researchers and educators to the world
As Australia’s national research and education network, AARNet enables global collaboration by directly interconnecting Australian institutions with research and education networks across Asia, North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. This international connectivity supports data-intensive research, international partnerships, and collaboration at scale.
AARNet’s international connectivity builds on its National Network, extending Australia’s research infrastructure into global research and education communities.
AARNet is part of the global network of research and education networks. It’s an international community fuelled by a strong collaborative spirit and a drive to push technical boundaries. These are some of the initiatives:
AARNet is a partner in GNA-G, a community of network professionals from Research & Education (Networking) organisations from all over the world, working together to develop a common global infrastructure to support data intensive collaborations.
AARNet is partner in APOnet, a regional collaboration between 11 national research and education networks that aims to improve high-speed network services between East Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and North America to support research.
Our national network connects institutions across Australia and supports AARNet’s international connectivity.
