Recent cyber attacks and a number of high-profile incidents have put the Australian research and education sector in the spotlight. Attacks on universities, schools and research institutes are increasing. Our portfolio of integrated cyber security services is designed to help AARNet customers detect and manage cyber threats and improve the security posture of the sector.
We’re collaborating with the sector, federal government and global partners to develop solutions and drive cyber security innovation.
The aim of the AHECS collective is to safeguard the reputation of the Australasian Higher Education Sector through coordinated, complementary cybersecurity-related portfolios of activity. We’ve teamed up with CAUDIT, AusCERT, AAF and REANNZ for this initiative
AARNet is an industry partner in the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC). The CSCRC connects industry, government and leading cybersecurity research organisations to develop and potentially commercialise products and services that improve the cyber security posture of Australia.
AARNet is a founding partner of a global threat intelligence sharing partnership along with CanSSOC, Jisc, OmniSOC and REN-ISAC. This collaboration is centred around the partner organisations informing each other of attacks in real time, increasing the likelihood that they can either put in effective preventative measures, or reduce the impact of attacks.
We play a leading role in a global forum for senior National Research and Education Network (NREN) security professionals globally. The forum provides an opportunity to share and develop security services and resources for the research network environment.
