Protect your campus networks, online assets, information and people from cyber threats

Our cyber security services, provided as part of AARNet’s role operating Australia’s national research and education network, are designed to detect and manage cyber threats. As attacks on the higher education sector increase, these services help strengthen institutional resilience and protect critical systems and research data.

DDoS Protection

Our DDoS Protection managed service is a cost-effective solution for safeguarding your institution’s internet services, information and assets from DDoS attacks. Our system efficiently detects, filters and mitigates attacks well before they reach your campus network. The service includes 24/7 proactive monitoring, detection and mitigation.

Early Warning System

The AARNet Early Warning System (EWS) monitors a handful of key online services for customers 24/7, such as public websites and learning management systems, to provide early notification of issues affecting performance and allow teams to respond quickly to incidents impacting network availability. This is an opt-in service that is free of charge for AARNet customers.

Routing Security

With more and more academic and business functions moving to the cloud, routing security is now an important component of your institution's IT infrastructure. AARNet participates in Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS), a global initiative, supported by the Internet Society, that provides crucial fixes to reduce the most common routing threats.
