The Higher Education Technology Agenda (THETA) is a biennial conference that aims to advance higher education and research by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.
THETA 2023 is coming up on 16-19 April at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, where AARNet will be participating in two sessions: one is focused on the increase in cyber fatigue due to heightened security risks and the other on how Zoom usage is trending post COVID.
Cyber fatigue – some insights and strategies from operations
James Ng, General Manager, Security Operations at AARNet, will be talking about the factors contributing to a growing wave of cyber fatigue – a weariness for cyber security advice and behaviours – that’s resulting in a perception of cyber security as a business inhibitor rather than an enabler. He will also share some of the strategies that AARNet has implemented to help mitigate this issue.
You can watch James’ presentation on Monday 17 April at 12 pm AEST in concourse room p4/5.
Zooming beyond COVID: Did the pace of learning really Zoom, or just the tools?
Geoff Lambert, Solution Consultant at AARNet will be analysing aggregated Zoom usage data to explain how the higher education sector’s use of Zoom video conferencing has changed in the 18 months since the COVID-19 lockdowns ended.
You can watch Geoff’s presentation on Tuesday 18 April at 12 pm AEST in concourse room p9.
We look forward to seeing you at THETA 2023! If you can’t join us at one of the sessions, you can visit the AARNet team on stand 31 to find out how our cyber security, network and collaboration solutions can help your institution. We will also be running live Zoom demonstrations throughout the conference showcasing the latest features of the Zoom product range.
