Elizabeth Carson ​is an emeritus professor at UNSW having held the role of Professor of financial accounting and auditing in the UNSW Business School until 2020, including serving as Associate Dean (Research).

She is an experienced educator and leader in higher education, with governance experience across a range of education settings, professional bodies and not for profit organisations. She has a research and technical background in accounting, auditing, risk and finance and has held the role of Academic Research Scholar to the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.

She is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and worked with one of the Big 4 firms prior to joining academia.
