Bruce has a background in law.

A former General Counsel at SingTel Optus, Bruce has practised across a wide range of corporate and commercial areas, including disputes, risk, insolvency, corporate governance, media and telecommunications.

He has also held a number of senior leadership and management positions. At Baker McKenzie, he was a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee; Chair, Asia Pacific; and for five years, Chair, Australian Offices. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Partner, Sydney at Minter Ellison

Bruce has served on boards in the heritage, arts and broadcasting sectors, including nine years on the board of Sydney Living Museums (formerly the Historic Houses Trust of NSW). He currently serves on the board of Radio 2MBS FM.

He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.
