FIRST Robotics Australian Regional Competition 2015

FIRST Robotics is an internationally acclaimed robotics program that inspires a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in young people.

13 Mar-2015 - 14 Mar-2015

AARNet is proud to be a sponsor of the 2015 FIRST Robotics Australian Regional Competition to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on 13 and 14 March 2015.

FIRST Robotics is an internationally acclaimed robotics program that inspires a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in young people.

The program's competitions combine the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors.  It’s as close to “real-world engineering” as a student can get.

AARNet staff are among the volunteer professional mentors lending their time and talents to guide teams competing in the upcoming 2015 FIRST Robotics Australian Regional Competition. AARNet is mentoring students from Barker College, an AARNet-connected K-12 School in Sydney.

The public is encouraged to attend, catch the excitement of this intense competition, and cheer on their favourite teams. Admission is free.
