The uptake of the AARNet CloudStor file sender and storage service is rapidly gaining momentum in the higher education community, accelerating past 26,600 users at the end of September 2016.
At Central Queensland University (CQU), for example, the service is working well for a wide range of users: students, staff and the long tail of researchers.
“The data is stored within Australia so there’s no sovereignty issues to worry about…and because CQ University is a partner of AARNet, if there are issues…we can directly contact the people and get access…the support and the availability to get access to the data are key features…” – Jason Bell, Senior Research Technologies Officer, CQU.
Watch the short video to hear what Jason Bell, CQU Senior Research Technologies Officer, says about CQU’s CloudStor experience and why it is proving to be a popular file sender and storage option for the University.
In response to user feedback, AARNet is continuously developing CloudStor to meet the collaboration needs of the Australian research and education community. CloudStor is a quick and easy way to send and receive large files, data is securely stored in Australia, 100GB of free storage is allocated to individual researchers at AARNet-connected institutions and group storage is also available.
