National Video Conferencing (NVCS)
The National Video Conferencing Service (NVCS) consolidates support services for video conferencing technologies. It serves as a central repository for both proactive and reactive troubleshooting of video conferencing equipment, as well as a resource for hosting news and reviews relating to current and emerging video conferencing equipment and technologies.
NVCS SUPPORT HOURS: 9:00am and 5:00pm AEST [UTC +10] except for public holidays
However, in case of requested event management , conference set up and testing may take place outside of normal business hours on an exception basis.
TIERED SUPPORT MODEL:
• 1st line support – nominated Coordinator of Video Conferencing (CAVE) and/or IT services contact person at your institution responsible for VoIP and Video services.
• 2nd line support – National Video Conferencing Service officers - support<at>nvcs.edu.au or call 1300 11 NVCS (or +61 2 6222 7527)
• 3rd line escalation – AARNet National Video Conferencing Services Manager

Pricing / Billing
There are currently no charges other than the traditional AARNet pricing model for traffic transiting the core network. This is subject to monitoring and review based on usage
Use of Skype
The use of Skype within AARNet connected institutions is a policy decision of the institution alone, AARNet recommends institutions and end users take account of best practice when enabling access and use of Skype services at http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/security/universities.
Skype is unsupported by AARNet's National Video Conferencing Service due to its peer-to-peer connection methodology.
