An overview of
AARNet’s e-Health Initiatives
There is an increasing call for
interaction between the AARNet network and the networks operated by various
public and private health jurisdictions across the country. Negotiating
connectivity between AARNet and the various heath networks is problematic across
all states and across all health jurisdictions. Further comments on the issue
can be found here.
AARNet’s work in the area of
e-health is a collaboration between AARNet’s Business Development Unit, the
members of the AARNet Advisory Committee and in
particular its Health Sub-Committee members.
Initiatives in e-Health include
those between members and their collaborators
and between AARNet and the national health community. They include the
formation of a health advisory committee, the
conduct of a program of dialogue with the health
sector, the conduct of a pilot national health
Innovation and Training network the development of collaborations with international R&E networks around e-Health and the
support of the national health research community through the AARNet e-Research group.
