Who knows if we will be seeing telepresence to the home (TPTTH?) anytime soon - hopefully if the bandwidth/fibre wars currently being fought are stimulated any by the entry of Deutsche Telekom into the broadband space.
This article from Robert X. Cringely of the American public broadcasting network, PBS, does raise some interesting points regarding the currently available systems, and how the convergence of HDTV technologies in the home and fast broadband might make this a killer app in the near future.
