The AARNet Advisory Committee Health Sub Committee  

In 2010 The AARNet Board encouraged the establishment of a formal advisory mechanism for health sector related connectivity issues. The AARNet Advisory Committee – Health Sub-Committee (AAC-HSC) was formed to seek to maximise the potential for researchers, educators and innovators to collaborate across the Health – Research & Education network interface.

It provides advice both to the AARNet Advisory Committee in relation to health related networking issues and to AARNet in relation to AARNet led health initiatives.

The role, composition and terms of reference of the AAC-HSC are available online and its current activities are detailed in the health communities section of this website.

Foundation membership of the AAC-HSC consisted of:

  • Ms Mary Sharp, CIO, University of Newcastle (Chair)
  • Assoc Professor Colin Carati, Executive Director, ICT Strategy , Flinders University
  • Mr. Ross Gorham – Executive Officer QRNO
  • Mr. Tom Maher, Network Manager Monash University
  • Mr. Steve Junor Manager, Communications Services, University of Sydney
  • Mike Rebbechi, Consultant e-Health Liaison, AARNet (Executive Officer)
