About Optical Networks

The AARNet Optical Network provides end users access to high capacity bandwidth and affordable prices. Services are delivered as point to point Gigabit Ethernet with a no rate limiting. This enables AARNet to deliver a product that for all intensive purposes looks like a long fiber patch cord to your network. At the heart of the network is a DWDM solution provided by Cisco Systems. The ONS 15454 MSTT provides the underlying optical transmission including amplification and multiplexing.
