Background
Over the past two years, AARNet organised successful road shows across five states to promote its services and encourage customers and vendors to share best practice to improve the user experience and management of a range of collaborative voip and video services across the AARNet network.
About this event
AARNet now offers customers with exclusive access to dedicated training in the form of half day workshops in areas we've been told are important and relevant to you. This one day event attracts a fee of $250 ($275 including GST) to cover some of the costs necessary to run the workshop. Attendees will be provided with two half day workshops that include all refreshments, lunch and dinner. A training certificate is provided to each attendee that successfully completes the workshop.

Program for the day
The latest program for the day is subject to change, there will be four half day workshops, two run in parallel each morning and afternoon on the following topics

Microsoft OCS training
- led by Microsoft, IPFocus, Cisco;

Polycom workshop on CMA and VMA management products,
endpoints and other features, including OCS integration;

Room Acoustics workshop
- Collecting and Dispersing Sound for Video Conferences led by Peter Patrick, Scientific Acoustics;

All things Audio Visual, Video Conferencing
- series of talks from the Australian R&E sector.
There will also be time set aside for a panel session towards the end of the day, of either the video conferencing manufacturers, resellers and systems integrators. A university tour of the innovation centre may also be organised.
Audience
The workshop topics relate to a range of collaboration platforms and applications, most are aimed at technical staff or middle to senior management, only a few would be suitable for Director level.
The target audience would be University, TAFEs, Schools and Research organisations that have a (or are considering a) connection to the AARNet network, with the relevant attendee profile being Audio Visual and Information Technology Services staff, plus any lecturers or researchers that are leading the way in deploying and using collaborative technologies.
The event is also open to commercial suppliers with a limited number of places that are prioritised to organisations that are sponsoring this event.
