AARNet Charging
AARNet currently charges for access and use to a number of services, this page details the current charging information on each specific service.
AARNet 3
The roll out of the AARNet3 network provided
significant increases in capacity to clients and the charging regime
has changed to remove the cost inhibitors for high capacity
applications and encourage innovative use of the network, as well as
greater certainty of costs. The model will be subject to periodic
review.
AARNet3 charges are different for Shareholders (Members) and for Non Shareholders (Associates and Affiliates).
Billing
On
Net and Off Net subscriptions are calculated in October each year, and
invoices must be delivered soon after to allow sufficient time for
customers to pay in advance for the following calendar year.
For
those invoices not paid in full and in advance, On Net and Off Net
Subscriptions, and Access Charges are invoiced by quarter and in
advance.
All Usage charges, including Excess Traffic, are invoiced retrospectively after each quarter.
Optical Network
Billing
for Optical Network connections and services starts on contract
commencement date, and invoices are issued quarterly in advance
thereafter.
Storage and Hosting
Storage customers must be existing AARNet3 customers; Storage must be purchased in units of 250 Gigabytes and for periods of 12 months.
Invoices
should be issued on contract exchange for storage charges, and usage
charges would be incorporated in quarterly AARNet3 invoices.
Voice over IP
The AARNet VoIP toll bypass service will close on Dec 1, 2008. AARNet will continue to support VoIP on.net services. All existing customers have been notified.
