National Video Conferencing (NVCS)

The National Video Conferencing Service (NVCS) consolidates support services for video conferencing technologies. It serves as a central repository for both proactive and reactive troubleshooting of video conferencing equipment, as well as a resource for hosting news and reviews relating to current and emerging video conferencing equipment and technologies.

NVCS includes 

Conferencing Services Online booking system (CMP) Tiered support model Support for CAVEs (audio video conferencing professionals) Support for events  Videoconferencing Blog vvc-l mailing list (Voice, Video and Collaboration)

Quality Assurance Scheme and quality assured videoconferencing sites listing Automated QA Tools (for quality assurance and endpoint testing) HD videoconferencing venues for use Videoconferencing Guidelines (pdf) Consultancy Service Ozeconferences (to enable the exchange of information and development of knowledge on video conferencing and other technologies) partnership in ACRME (Australian Community of Rich Media Expertise) whose primary focus is on the use of video conferencing and digital streaming to support teaching and learning. This initiative is funded by The Carrick Institute.

Pricing / Billing

There are currently no charges other than the traditional AARNet pricing model for traffic transiting the core network. This is subject to monitoring and review based on usage
